A story of the universe inspiring revolutionary medical treatment

內經Nèijīng Acupuncture is an advanced medicine that requires a great degree of skill and precision. It involves attempting to see all of the events of a patient’s life and understand where and what happened that shifted the person away from health to disease. This acupuncture was rediscovered from recent research into the Chinese medical classic HuángDìNèiJīng 黃帝內經.

Why do we get sick? What is illness? What is health? What is the meaning of life? What is my role in relationship to the cosmos?

The 內經Nèijīng tells us that understanding our permeable relation to our local environment and the phenomenon of our consciousness within the fabric of the cosmos is integral to answering the above questions. Critically, each of these answers carries direct clinical value for the 內經Nèijīng Physician when treating illness.

A vital part of this work is to discover that specific moment in your life that changed your health forever. We call this event that changes your life in a detrimental way the ‘inflection point’, where after ‘nothing was ever the same’.

This event can be caused by environmental weather patterns (cold, damp, heat), noxious chemical exposure (organophosphates, cisplatin, anesthesia), irregularities in eating and drinking (alcohol consumption, improper food, lack of food, overeating), traumatic events (sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, death of a loved one, violent attacks), genetic or ancestral memories, surgeries or traumatic accidents (appendectomy, post surgical laminectomy pain, car accidents), ideologies, although it usually contains a mixture of the above factors. We have found that this crucial event lives in the landscape of the body and when we treat it profound changes can occur.

It is the goal of the 內經Nèijīng Physician to understand and treat this event with care and skill so that you may circulate in harmony with the rhythms of your local environment and the cosmos. And why does this matter? When you transmute illness you automatically become less ‘self-focused’, freeing you to give the world your unique and precious contribution. In this manner we can heal ourselves and the world.

My primary focus is treating illnesses that are medically complex, chronic, and resistant to standard care.

In order to achieve this I continually engage in advanced clinical training in the mother text of Acupuncture, the HuángDìNèiJīng 黃帝內經, with world renowned scholar and clinician, Edward Neal, MD.

This method is not specifically point-based, rather focuses on rehabilitating dysfunctional tissues that are no longer 'breathing' due to diminished blood circulation.

I am dedicated first and foremost to patient health and care. Everything I do is guided by this principle. My current work is constructing clinical tools for Neijing practitioners.

External Medicine

One of the many gifts of the 內經Nèijīng is the understanding that not all problems require needles. The 內經Nèijīng Acupuncture Clinic provides various treatment modalities to address different illness issues. While needles are specifically indicated for structural impediments stemming from external patterns or physical trauma or emotional events, External Medicine (Fire Cupping, Thai Herbal Pistils, Moxa) is indicated if a person is experiencing weakness due to noxious chemical exposure or lack of circulation in their fat tissue.

Thai Herbal Pistils are handmade and composed of Turmeric, Kafir Lime, Lemongrass, Camphor, Ginger, and Magnesium Salts. They are steamed and applied to the body in a relaxing massage. The aromatic and pungent herbs suffuse subcutaneous and fat tissue with movement and warmth. This helps nourish and support patients with deficiency.

Fire Cupping uses glass cups and flame to create a vacuum on the skin and fascia. This pulls and raises the connective tissue on the back to calm the sinews. This method calms and relaxes the patient and pulls noxious chemicals and heavy metals from the blood.

Moxa is the therapeutic burning of Mugwort or Artemisia Vulgaris or Douglisania to warm and nourish an area. This is used in a Japanese Pine box placed over a patient’s lower back. The gentle warmth calms and strengthens most patients.

Often External Medicine is used to prepare the patient for treatment with needles. Other External Medicine techniques will be added as we design the ability to implement them.
